Horses

Horses can present with many different behavourial problems. Some of these are natural responses for a herd and prey species in a domestic setting. Horses have a lot of learning to do to cope with domestic and ridden life, and given what is expected of them, they generally do very well! However there are situations where our horses do not cope through no fault of their own and need some help adjusting and understanding what we are asking of them. Sometimes behaviour can escalate to dangerous levels where horses resort to flight or even fight, becoming dangerous to ride or handle. I can support you with a range of behaviour problems including:

  • Aggression towards people
  • Aggression towards other horses
  • Loading and travelling problems
  • Napping
  • Bucking and rearing
  • Fear of clipping
  • Bolting
  • Spooking and shying
  • Fear of veterinary procedures
  • Separation related problems
  • Working with horses who have experienced trauma

If you are dealing with any of the above problems, or something else that is not on the list, please get in touch to see if I can support you. Visit our Behaviour & Training Services page for more information.
